When choosing a swimming school, class sizes matter. For example, at Fulton Swim School, all of our learn to swim classes have an optimum ratio of 4, and a maximum of 5, students to 1 teacher. This is below the industry standard and enables our teachers to focus on their students and ensures the lessons are enjoyable and student progression is fast. Ultimately, you know your child best, if you think they would benefit from smaller class sizes, that might help you narrow down which swimming lessons would suit best.
Along the same lines, if you know that your child learns better in a quieter environment, you might favour a private pool over a public one. Your child may find that taking classes in a public pool is still very distracting, even if their class is small, because there will always be crowds around. Choosing a private swimming school means fewer distractions and more focused learning time!

At Fulton Swim School, our facilities are purpose-built to help Kiwis grow their confidence in the water! All of the pools at our facilities are heated to 32 degrees Celsius, and have been designed with children in mind.
Our classes run throughout the year (including school holidays), because we know that there’s no right or wrong time to start, and attending lessons year-round is the key to continual improvement. This also means that you can book in at any stage of the year and pull out at any stage, so you are not locked in for a term of lessons, and you don’t have to wait until the start of the next term to enrol.
We also have a makeup token system. We’re proud to be one of the few extracurricular activities that offers the chance to make up for a missed lesson. We offer unlimited makeups and there’s no expiry date (subject to our Ts & Cs). That means, if your child is unwell, or you’re heading away on holiday and won't be able to make it to a lesson, that’s no problem! Simply use your makeup token for another lesson you can make it to. Basically, we want you to be able to get the most out of every lesson you pay for!
You can view your makeup tokens, and track your child’s progress at any time of the day or night, through our handy dandy app. Our amazing app shows student achievements and allows you to manage bookings, so everything you need is at your fingertips! Our teachers also set aside a few minutes at the end of every lesson to discuss your child’s progress in person, and to answer any questions you might have.
